Updates for May 21 - May 26, 2010

Posted by Marilyn LeRoy in Untagged

Homework for the weekend:

You are revising and editing the essay that I returned to you.  Make sure that you can access the essay via Criterion or the comp lab.  This is the final version for a grade.  Pay careful attention to the corrections and the comments.

You were each assigned one of the mysterious messages left for the Winterbottoms.  Your assignment is to do the following:

     1.  Explain the message in your own words.
      2.  Explain what the meaning of the message is to you and how it applies to your life.
The later is to be done in a well written paragraph that introduces the message, explains it in your own words, and then develops the message's meaning for and to you.

You should be reading the final selection of Walk Two Moons.  You will take the AR test on Friday, May 28, 2010.

You will take the reading comprehension SAT on Monday and the language SAT on Tuesday.  Report directly to Mrs. Colavito's class.  She will have your test booklets and answer sheets.  Good Luck!

We will study for our final exam beginning on Thursday, May 27.  Can you come to a study session that afternoon?  When do you want to study over the weekend?  Let's make some decisions.

You are to be working on revising one more essay.  You each have something to work on.

Think about your essay to Dr. Ichilov.  Think about how you will expand them from an opening paragraph to a complete essay.

You will be tested on 20/30 words.  You will need to know part of speech and a brief definition.  You will have a fill in the blank exercise that indicates you understand the words.

Monday will be a little of AMND and Criterion, with Mrs. Philips help.

Have a wonderful weekend!
